We’ve been creating brand identities for clients around the world for many years and finally decided to design some stuff for ourselves. We’ve taken our love of geometry, pattern, white space, Bauhaus, Miró and a little too much caffeine and mashed it all into a style we call Messy Modernism – “messymod” for short. It’s minimal, modern, graphic, quirky, stylized, grotesque, delightful and just plain weird.

All artwork is created by Adam Goldberg, while everything important is managed by Monika Kehrer. By day, we’re running Los Angeles-based design studio TRÜF. By night, we’re designing playful stuff like this. We hope you enjoy.

Why is it Messy?

It’s really not. But our thought process is. Get over it ;)

What is a Giclée print?

It’s a fancy word for high-quality, archival inkjet printing usually used for fine art or photo reproduction. The color is very saturated and smooth.

Will the prints last forever ever ever?

Nothing lasts forever. But they will hold up for generations. They’re printed with archival inks and on acid and lignin-free archival paper just in case you’re an archivist.

Do you do commissions or commercial work?

Absolutely. But we’re selective and want to keep it schlock-free. If you want to get in touch about a potential project, we’d love to hear about it. Get in touch

Is that a hidden swastika in your artwork?

No. Check yourself.

What’s taking sooo long?

We print and ship each piece individually as fast as we can with loving care. Sometimes love takes time, but we’ll send you a tracking number and all that good stuff so that you’re not totally left in the dark.

Why aren’t you selling all the pieces that I see elsewhere online?

We’re starting small and seeing how it goes. For now, we’re basing our selection process on the most popular pieces. If you’re dying for a piece of art that you don’t see here, feel free to let us know and we’ll certainly consider it.

How do I flatten out my rolled print?

The best thing to do is to have the print flattened and framed by a professional. If you want to flatten out the print yourself, please follow the instructions in this video. We are not responsible for any damage that may occur when you try to flatten the print.

What hashtags should I use?

We appreciate you sharing any photos on social media. If you feel like doing so please use the hashtags #messymod and #messymodernism so we can help spread the word.
